We have new work in the gallery by pastel artist Dorothy Fagan.
Dorothy has worked in pastel for over thirty years. So when she paints, she prefers to use oil pastel sticks instead
of brushes. Like pastels, for her the oil sticks are direct and intuitive; allowing her to mix colors on the surface
of the painting, instead of on a palette. In this way, she builds the layers of vibrant, impasto pigment that creates
her signature style.

In December we installed over 35 pieces of artwork in a food court at O'Hare Airport. The theme was "Chicago"
and we composed a collection of vintage posters, black and white photos of the Chicago skyline from the 1930's, historic
aerial maps of the 1893 Columbian Exposition as well as 40" x60" color photos of current Chicago landmarks.
This eclectic grouping spanned a 147-foot wall.

We are now representing the artwork of Barbara Young. Bursting with color
and texture, Barbara's work is fresh and evocative. Her country gardens and scenic balcony views are intensely
colored. Her small (11" x 14") encaustics in jewel tones are treasures for the wall.

We've
recently added historic maps to our inventoy. You can search our collection by typing in specific
cities on our map page. Take a look at the terrific "bird's eye view" maps. Most
are in color, and the black & white maps can be hand-colored, if desired.
